Enjoying Family Life
You are welcome to another wonderful month. My topic this month is, Enjoying Family Life. This week, I will be sharing with you on The Foundation For Enjoying Family Life.
It is God that established marriage and family. Family life is not accidental in a person's life, rather, it is a phase one has to go through in life. Furthermore, there is no person on the face of the earth who appeared suddenly or dropped from heaven. Every person represents a particular family on the earth. The first place or persons a baby gets to know after its birth is linked to the family, whether it is family members (father, mother, relation, etc) or the home.
Researchers have said that a well-balanced family life goes a long way in establishing a bright future for an individual. There is an adage which says, "Charity begins at home." Really, home is the birth place of character development and life itself. Family life is, therefore, a sensitive issue. God's Word explains further what it is about. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says: Two are better than one for they have a good reward for their labour.
God instituted marriage and family to ensure a better way of life for man. So, whatever lie that the devil might be impressing in your heart to believe, doesn't matter. Does your life seem colourless to you? Or is it your marriage and family life that seem worthless? Don't believe or accept any of that, rather, open your heart to receive, believe and appropriate God's Word to yourself. As you do this unceasingly, new life will be transmitted into you and every dead situation in your life and family will come alive in Jesus' precious Name. It is my desire that today's topic will energize your spirit, put new life into your soul and home in Jesus' Name.
God's Word says: And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breathe of life and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).
People see dust as a priceless commodity that can be found everywhere. But as valueless as it seems, the Bible says, out of it God formed man and breathed His breath into him. After that, man became a living soul.
If God was able to make man from something supposedly worthless as dust, invariably, no matter how terrible your marriage and family life may seem to be, they can receive a transforming touch from Him. God will make something tangible out of your family life, if you will let Him. Many Christian homes, today, are experiencing a dearth of "the breath of life". It is only the breath of God that can make the difference in your family life. The Lord and Originator of family life has what it takes to cause all issues concerning your family to come alive.
What is the breath of God? It is what has been already gathered together and compiled into the Word of God - "The Bible." No matter how bad your family life may be, when you open up to the Word of God, new life will enter into it. The Word of God is the antidote to the sorry state in which some families find themselves today. 2 Timothy 3:16 says: Every scripture is given by the inspiration of God" (the breath of God or the Spirit of God).
The Bible further explains in John 6:63 what the breath or spirit comprises. It says: The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life... So, as the Word of God finds a place in your family, the spirit, which is the breath or life of God, enters. Your family then begins to experience a new spirit and new life; every dead situation around you begins to give way to new life in Christ Jesus.
Looking at the institution of family from the Bible reveals how God made it a living family. This will help you know what you need to do in order to make your family a model. The Bible is the manual for successful living. It is our reference book. Just like you spend time to read the manual (instructions) for any electronic equipment you buy, because you want to avoid wrong connection, the same way you need to spend time also to read God's manual (The Bible) for successful family life.
If you choose the trial and error method, you will discover that the amount of time you take doing that will be far more than the time you would have taken to read through the manual and discover the right steps to take. Therefore, never let the idea of studying God's Word become a burden to you.
God's Word (The Bible) is the manufacturer's manual, as far as marriage and family life are concerned. Therefore, let it be your guide concerning your family affairs and you will enjoy a living family in Jesus' name. Obedience to God's Word leads to transformation. Look at this testimony:
There is this sister who after 10 years of a sour marriage, decided to put the Word of God to work. She decided to fulfill her own part of the marriage covenant, by doing what the Word commanded wives to do. Her obedience fetched her her miracle - a living home and family life! Her marriage received a great transformation because of the encounter she had with the Word of God.
Is your marriage and family experiencing a breakdown or turbulence? Do not fret; all that you need to do to come out turbulence is a personal encounter with God. You need to make a decision to belong to God. You need to be born again. This is done by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations! You are now born again and fit to enjoy every covenant blessing!
