GOD’S MASTER PLAN FOR THE FAMILY (2)
Last week, I taught on The Essence Of The Family. This week, I will be looking at
All-Round Blessings as part of God's plan for the family.
There is no limit to the pleasure and blessings God can bring to all the areas of your life, through a successful family life. There is joy that comes along with family success. This simply spills over into other areas of life. These blessings include the following:
Divine Dominion
To have dominion is to have control or to exercise control. God has established, therefore, that you have dominion; that is to have and exercise control. The family is to exercise control over circumstances and situations of life ...And have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Genesis 1:28). God designed the family as an unbeatable team, but because Adam failed in the family government, he lost control and he and his wife Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden.
Divine Favour
Once divine favour is present in your home and family, it is irreversible. Even men are compelled to favour you, because when a man's ways please the Lord, He causes even his enemies to be at peace with him. The favour of God elevates you to such great heights that men begin to envy you. You become the reference point of a good marriage. When you step out, hand in hand with your partner, people will begin to whisper, "See those two, you would think they only got married yesterday." Marriage then becomes desirous, which is what it should be.
God's favour also secures for you a lifting and promotion in status, often occurring in an increase in material possessions, finances, etc.
Taking a look at the first family (Adam and Eve), one discovers that even after the fall, Adam's family still enjoyed God's favour. They had sewed fig leaves together and made aprons to cover their nakedness. But because of the special favour God reserved for the family, He overlooked their betrayal and clothed them with animal skin. He clothed their nakedness and thus removed shame from them.
In spite of the fact that Eve was the one deceived and the primary cause of the fall, out of favour, God made her a promise in Genesis 3:15 saying: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Divine Security
God, the husband and wife form a three-fold cord that is not easily broken. As man co-operates with God and establishes His purpose for marriage in the home, God honours that family by ensuring that nothing prevails against it. They (the man and his wife) are equipped to withstand, with the help of the Lord, all demonic forces and the pressures of the secular world. God's Word says: . ...If one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
(Ecclesiastes 4:12).
Divine Presence
The enemy is walking to and fro looking for "cold" homes to infiltrate. When there's fighting, discord, selfishness, quarrelling, and unforgiveness, the home can be said to be "cold". But when there is love, understanding and harmony in a home, God rewards it with the warmth of His presence and peace that burns off the attacks of the devil which could cause tension. For in His presence is fullness of joy and pleasures (Psalm 16:11).
Lifting By Men
It is an established fact that even the human society honours the married. For instance, once you are married, you are entitled to certain jobs and key positions because you are regarded as being responsible. Even if a woman is a young girl of about 20, the mere fact that she is married earns her respect and certain benefits. In the spiritual setting also, there are certain key offices that only the married can occupy.
You Never Fall
Whenever any party in a marriage relationship is weak, the other individual can lift him up by strengthening him. The stronger can pray, declaring God's Word, thus raising up the weak or falling spouse. God's Word says: For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow... (Ecclesiastes 4:10).
I remember a time when my health was being attacked. I had prayed, declared the Word and did all I knew to do; but nothing seemed to be working. But then my husband received an insight from God's Word; he prayed over me and that ended the trial! I was healed and delivered!
Marriage is God's strategy to ensure that you never fall into depression and loneliness.
Access to these blessings is the privilege of those born again. If you want to be born again, then say this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. You died for my sins and on the third day You rose again from the dead that I might be liberated from the power of sin and death. I come to You today by faith upon your Word and repent of every sin in my life. Henceforth, I choose to follow after You Lord and uphold your righteousness. Thank You Lord for saving me.
Congratulations! You are now born again and fit to enjoy every covenant blessing!
If you prayed the above simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and He will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God's Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
