GOD’S MASTER PLAN FOR THE FAMILY (3)
Under the above topic, we have seen the essence of the family. Last week, we learnt about all-round blessings that God has planned for man. This week, we will be looking at Fruitfulness as part of God's plan for man.
The marriage union is expected to produce children. That was God's plan from the beginning (Genesis 1:26-28). God's Word cannot be broken. If He declared you fruitful, there is no biological reason that is strong enough to stop your fruitfulness.
God gives children. Children are a gift from God; they are blessings to the family. The fall of Adam and Eve was what opened the door to barrenness. But God sent Jesus to redeem mankind from every curse of the law.
If you are born again, you are exempted from barrenness! Children are given to you as part of your inheritance in God (Psalm 127:3). Therefore, see your grief and frustrations ending right now. Children are your entitlement, if you're serving the Lord. He said, "Be fruitful..." (Genesis 1:28).
God instituted the human family by blessing not cursing it. He said to Adam and Eve, "Be fruitful"! Fruitfulness goes beyond procreation to success in all areas of life. It can also mean, "Have many good results".
The instruction given in the beginning to be fruitful and multiply has a major implication, and that authenticates the fact that God has given man the ability to multiply. The scripture is very clear on this subject: Thou shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle (Deuteronomy 7:14). There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land... (Exodus 23:26). These two scriptural witnesses are unequivocal. God wants everyone to be fruitful. If there be any case of barrenness, it is certainly not from God. God did not create you barren. You were complete at creation and God said you were very good. If man calls you barren, God does not; He can heal you and He wants to. All cases of barrenness in the Bible were healed, except Michal, David's wife, who was cursed for scorning her husband. Barrenness is a curse, but thank God that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. In case you have difficulty in childbearing, there are certain steps you need to take.
Accept What God's Word Says About You: If you find it difficult to bear children, find out what God's Word says about you, accept it, and walk in it. After creation, God said that everything He created was very good-including you. Man may call you barren, but God does not. He can heal any case of barrenness, because with Him all things are possible. If there is anything missing in you (medically speaking) that is responsible for it, the devil is the thief that stole it. But you can catch the thief and recover your goods from Him. Realize that every situation is subject to change; only the truth abides.
Catch The Thief: The devil is the thief. God's Word says: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy... (John 10:10). You can catch him and make him pay back seven-fold. You catch him by rebuking him over your life and family. Command him to take his hands off your life. Resist him steadfastly in the faith and lay hold on your blessings.
Make Your Request Known to God: Go to God in prayer and tell Him what you want. Ask Him to fulfil His Word on fruitfulness in your life; tell Him you receive the blessings in Jesus' name. This has to be a conscious effort of the will, for it is one thing to be given a gift, it is quite another to receive or accept it. Accept what God has provided, and give Him thanks for it.
Think, Talk and Act Positively: Think as someone that has children already. When the devil comes to you with negative thoughts, wanting to make you accept the falsehood that you are barren, resist him. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Guard your heart with all diligence. Learn how to talk and act victoriously. Your positive confession and actions will bring God's blessings within easy reach, faster than you can imagine.
There was a lady, who had been married for about 18 years, but was childless. She approached my husband for counselling and prayer. After prayer, my husband told her to think, talk and act as one who is fruitful and not barren. He told her to go to the market and buy baby things in anticipation of her baby, and that when people see her and ask her, she should be bold to tell them that the items are for the baby she was expecting. She did exactly that.
It was not long, this lady was back with a baby as a living testimony! Don't be afraid of what people have said to you, or what they will say when you start taking some steps of faith. It is not what people say that matters, but what God says. You should be bold to declare what God says about you. Yours will be the next testimony!
Do you desire an all-round fruitfulness? You need to be born again. If you want to be born again, why not say this prayer of faith with me: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me my sins, take control of my life. Make me a child of God today and plant your rest into my life.
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God's Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
